RUBY AGUIRRE
During my study abroad internship in Santiago de Compostela, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in both academic and professional environments that significantly enhanced my language skills and cultural understanding. I took C1-level Spanish classes, which challenged me to improve my fluency, expand my vocabulary, and engage in complex discussions with confidence. Outside of the classroom, living with a local host family allowed me to experience daily life in Galicia firsthand, from traditional home-cooked meals to learning about regional customs and the Galician language. Exploring the historic city, participating in community events, and traveling to nearby regions deepened my appreciation for Spain’s diverse cultures and histories. The friendships I built with both local residents and fellow international students helped me grow personally and broadened my global perspective.
